FOUR GENERATIONS OF CARE

Welcome to Walter Funeral Home, a family business serving the communities of Freeman, Bridgewater and Marion, South Dakota for more than 75 years. 

Through four generations of family ownership, Walter Funeral Home has aimed to provide quality comfort, care and first-rate service to those dealing with the loss of a loved one.

Walter Funeral Home was established in Freeman by Mike Walter in 1936, who 50 years later described his half-century of service to the community in one word: "Mission."

Today, Mike's son, Derald, grandson, Michael, and great-grandson, Nathan, are continuing to pursue that "mission," providing care and comfort to the people they serve in the most difficult of times.
