Paul Lasley

Paul Lasley, 54, of Alexandria, SD, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Nov. 20th from natural causes. Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 25th, at 11 am at the First Baptist Church of Emery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Monday, Nov. 24th at the church with a time of sharing at 6:30 pm.

Paul Lorenz Lasley

Paul Lorenz Lasley was born September 7, 1971, in Redwood Falls, MN, to James and Ann Lasley (Reyelts) and passed away on November 20, 2025.

Paul met Tricia Lundberg at Augustana University where they were both attending. They married on June 21, 1997. They were blessed with a son, Craig James, in September, 2000.

Paul spent many years coaching on the offense side of football. He started his career in 1994 at Maine Maritime Academy. He then coached at the University of South Dakota, Westmar College, Oklahoma Panhandle State University, Augustana University, Peru State College, and Dakota Wesleyan University. Paul left that career in 2012, but continued coaching his son, Craig, which Paul loved most of all.

Following coaching, he worked for the State of South Dakota with the Department of Labor and most recently with the Department of Revenue.

Paul was known for many things. His quirky sense of humor, his ability to talk to anyone and his love for the Lord. He chose to show that love by serving in many capacities in the different churches he and Tricia attended. He served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, and AWANA leader, as well as many other areas in the churches.

Paul is survived by his wife, Tricia, and their son Craig. Brother Scott and wife Heather Lasley. Mother-in-law Connie Lundberg. Brother-in-law Rick and wife, Mary Beth Lundberg, sister-in-law Jill and husband Jon Frick. Nieces and nephews Annee Lasley and fiancé Mitchell Harralson, Hayden Lasley, Jess and husband Brian Van Houten, Derrick and wife Hunter Lundberg, along with their children, Charlie, Hudson and Myles, Kevin and wife Courtney Frick and their child Ella, Brenna Frick and Tyler Frick.

Preceding Paul in death were his parents, James and Ann Lasley and father-in-law, Lloyd Lundberg.

To say, “Paul will be missed,” is the understatement of the year. Tricia, Craig, his extended family and dear friends trust in the hope of heaven. We will see him again.
