Mary Osterloo, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, 74 of Hartford South Dakota passed away on May 25, 2025 at Avera with her family by her side.

Mary Kay Stoltz was born September 12, 1950 to Carl and Darlene (Peters) Stoltz joining her brothers John and Ron.

On May 2, 1975 she married her high school sweetheart James Osterloo and blended their families, daughter‘s Nicole and Cassie with Jim‘s children Brad and Jeri. To their union were born Travis and Troy. Mom and Dad just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on May 2, 2025.

Mary was always the caretaker of her family from the time she was young. She took care of her grandmother Anna Stoltz and her mother Darlene when she fell ill. Mom continued on in the caretaking of our youngest brother Troy and our dad. She also wore the title of referee, ring master and chauffeur. Mary retired from AMPI as Regional Manager in 2016 to take care of Jim.

Mary’s greatest joy was her family. There was never a dull moment with her group and many great times and laughs were had camping and fishing in the early years at Marrs Beach in Madison and the shore of the James River.

Mary is survived by her husband, Jim, her daughters Nicole (Jeff) Bartscher, Cassie (Craig) Derry, her son, Travis (Ashly), son Troy, daughter, Jeri (Clark) Mickelson, and son Brad, brothers, John Stoltz and Ron (Mercedes) Stoltz., 13 grand children, six great grandchildren and the host of extended family and friends. Mom held a deep love and gratitude to the Ernster and Olinger families of Emery.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Carl and Darlene Stoltz, sister-in-law Sandra Stoltz, nephew Dustin Stoltz, niece Danielle Stoltz, father and mother-in-law Hans and Lillian Osterloo, sister-in-law, Joan Osterloo, and brother-in-law Merle Swyter.
