A Life Remembered
Lori Yvonne Geier
Lori Y (Davis) Geier, the daughter of Howard and Carolyn Davis was born January 8th, 1970 and died January 3rd, 2022. She had a hard fought battle at Avera McKennen Hospital but lost that battle. Lori is at peace now and will always be remembered for her bright smile and loving nature.
Lori's love of animals took her to the Pedigree Career Institute were she studied pet grooming and care. She was one of the top graduates of her class and turned that into a rewarding life, when Lori opened Lori's Pet Grooming In Freeman, SD. One of her biggest dreams had come true.
On May 31st, 1994 Lori married Robert Geier whom she met in Anchorage, Alaska. They were married for 27 years. They lived in Kentucky, Tennessee, and Colorado before settling into Freeman as their home. Lori loved the people and the community here.
Lori's love for animals and the outdoors meant she spent a great deal of time outdoors in here leisure time. Lori loved to go camping and hiking. She enjoyed hunting and shooting sports when she was younger. Lori especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Her other great love was her shop. Lori never felt like she was at work when she was in the shop grooming peoples' pets. It is what she loved to do. She had been taking care of other peoples dogs since she was 14 years old, even before going to school for it.
Celebrating Lori's life are her husband Robert, her father Howard, her mother Carolyn, her sisters Sherri, Karon, Diane and Esther, her son Michael, daughters; Heather and Echo, her grandchildren; Aurora, John Jr, Edwin, Michael, and Elianna.
Memorial Services will be held at a to be determined date later this spring.
