LaVonne Viet

LaVonne Viet, 88, formerly of Marion passed away on Feb. 19th at the Bethany Home in Sioux Falls. Due to the weather, private family services and burial will be held. Our dear mother, LaVonne R. Viet, sadly passed away on Feb. 19, 2023 at the age of 88.

LaVonne Riekena was born June 28th, 1934 to Ted and Bertha Riekena. She married Lawrence Viet on November 28th, 1952. LaVonne and Lawrence were married for 62 years before Lawrence's passing in 2015.

Lavonne was an active member of the First Reformed Church in Monroe.  She loved reading and doing embroidery work. She was a wonderful, loving, and kind mother who was always there when we needed her. She had many friends and was a well-loved member of the communities of Marion and Monroe. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all who knew her.

LaVonne was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sons-in-law Rocky Wentzel.

She is survived by her three children; Debbie, Barb, and Dave (Karen) along with a loving group of grandchildren and great grand-children.
