Donna Mae Rasmussen

Donna Mae Rasmussen, 90, of Sioux Falls and formerly of Bridgewater passed away on April 17th at Dow Rummel in Sioux Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church in Canistota on Saturday, April 22nd. Visitation will begin at 10 am on Saturday at the church prior to the funeral service.

Donna Mae Rasmussen was born outside of Bridgewater on Oct 31, 1932 to Willie and Marie Koepp. She was the 5th of 7 children.

After school, Donna began working at the Ortman Cafe in Canistota for many years. On July 16th, 1965 she married Bruce Rasmussen. Together, they farmed outside of Bridgewater. Donna worked hard alongside Bruce on the farm. She also enjoyed gaardening, canning, and baking. She made her own potato chips and all kinds of candy. Her farm cats were very important to her and she loved having them. 

After Bruce passed away in 2012, Donna became a resident of Dow Rummel Village in Sioux Falls and resided there until the time of her passing.

Preceding Donna in death are her husband, parents, siblings Bill, Kenny, Ed, and Betty.

She is survived by brothers Donald (Sue) Koepp of Yankton and Virgil (Jeri) of Canistota, 17 nieces and nephews along with many friends.

Donna’s infectious laugh will be greatly missed by her family and all who loved her.
